My spirits were so low this morning I had to get away from here to try and do some tolerable regardless of the risk. I knew that would have made many people within my entourage's skin crawl but I felt led to do it. I found an interpreter and we fist the hospital on foot. I wanted to visit some orphanages. We saw 4 within 2 hours all within a mile of the dispensary. Some you would have never known that they were even there. There were no signs. We just walked up to a passage and knocked. Once the gates were open there were children everywhere. None of these kids were detriment in the quake but their conditions were horrible. We visited one and they were in group like setting on a dirt floor with a tarp for a roof. Some children were sitting at their desks without any pants or underclothing.

We were told by one of the directors that they desperately wanted an 18 day old mollycoddle boy to be taken. I asked to see him and we walked through a mile of shanties on a away that even a goat would have struggled to keep it's balance. We went into a 5x8 apartment that had 6 people in it. The room was dark and had no windows and a soil floor. There was an old woman feeding this tiny babe on a bed. The bed sheets were covered in the babies urine. He couldn't have weighed more than 5 lbs. His mom had been killed in the quake. The father had abandoned the him and fled to the countryside. I have all of their correspond with information and told them that I would get with my church in Dallas to see if we couldn't boost them out with some supplies as well as try to see if we could start the process of finding them all homes.
