Point CORAL : They might be beautiful but botanical experts say some of the trees in Neck Coral's Rotary Environmental Put are dangerous.

"Like most things with people that have secure intentions...they backfire," said Honey Archey with the borough of Cape Coral

Trees brought to Southwest Florida from other parts of the area include the melaleuca and the Brazilian Pepperbush. They were brought in either for their advantage or their ability to dry up swampy land.

But the trees have killed inborn plants and are a fire danger. The city of Cape Coral is getting rid of the unwanted trees.

"The melaleuca is praisefully flammable and it will drop seeds in a fire and spread more double-quick," said Archey.

Nearly 40 acres in Ness Coral's environmental parks will see an eradication of these trees.  The borough has set aside some $15,000 in funds for the project.

But Archey, who's over the environmental enjoyment for the city says that won't be enough.

Damond Watkins of Idaho Falls has been elected by the Idaho Republican Structure Central Committee to serve as one of three Idahoans on the Republican State Committee.

Watkins is the vice president of corporate relations for Melaleuca, which manufactures and distributes particular care, health and home cleaning products in Idaho Falls.

He was elected the Idaho GOP's state committeeman, replacing Blake Hall, who resigned the advertise in November after pleading guilty to stalking a former girlfriend. Hired hall had been national committeeman since 1990. The election, held Saturday, was announced Tuesday in a talk release.
